about

‎'Micro Mania!' Short-lived BBC2 popular science series from 1983, in which presenters Janet Ellis and Wilf Lunn show how modern computer advances are changing our lives for the better. This week: Janet uses a Vic-20 to program the spin cycle on her Hotpoint washing machine, and Wilf reaches the 'Eugene's Lair' level of Manic Miner (cue wobbly-looking sequence in which Wilf himself is superimposed into the game). Now remembered only for studio guest Captain Sensible's famous drunken rant about Z80 Machine Code programming, much beloved of Channel 5 clipshows.
